Sneak Peek: Cimarron’s World-Building & How You Can Help
World-building in progress. Notify us to leave your mark!
Hey all,
Just sharing another update on where we’re at with our first graphic novel, Cimarron.
We’re deep in it now, mid-process, mid-conversation. Technically, still in pre-production: budgeting, planning, sorting logistics, but it’s the (fun) messy stage. We’re working out how many copies to print, where they’ll go, how retail might work, and what it’ll take to raise the money to make it all happen. The Kickstarter goes live in just a few weeks, and we’re learning something new every day.
We also recorded a podcast session, a kind of pilot for a series we’re calling Art Book Editions. It features a conversation with Dwayne, and here’s a short extract.
So as we’re heading into the final stretch before launch. That “Notify Me” button might seem small, but it plays a big role for us it tells Kickstarter this project has people behind it. The more folks who click and sign up now, the more visible Cimarron becomes when we go live.
If you’ve been meaning to do it, now’s the time.
Cimarron is being shaped through process — and some of our favourite books have come together in exactly this way. It means listening, researching, shifting direction, staying open, and gathering feedback. Dwayne brought the spark. From there, it’s been our job to give space to writer Sophie McVeigh and artist Shuning Ji to stretch that spark into something deeper, more fantastical. And in the meantime, our focus is connecting with the audience we’re building this for.
What Else We’re Working On This Week
Cimarron is taking up a lot of headspace right now but it’s not the only thing we’ve got on the go.
Indie Skate
We’re deep in development on Indie Skate, a new title we’re co-publishing with art and design legends Thames & Hudson. Due out next year, this one sits more in our comfort zone. It explores the spread of skate culture around the world, the DIY energy behind it, and the scenes that keep it alive.
TIFO: The Art of Football Fan Stickers
Our best-seller TIFO is getting a reprint. It’s been our most popular title to date, and we’re gearing up for a fresh run, scheduled for Feb/March 2026. Expect updates soon — especially if you missed the first one.
Esoterica
We’ve also been working quietly on an Esoteric sticker book — not sure how much we can say yet, but we’ll be sharing more soon. If you’re into mysticism, symbolism, or the occult side of art, you’ll want to watch this space.
Stickerbomb Callout: Outside Edition
We’ve just launched a new Stickerbomb artist callout, this time themed around adventure, extreme sports, and all things outdoors. If you are an artist or know an artist who fits the bill, send them our way!
Back to Cimarron — and Why “Notify Me” Still Matters
This newsletter isn’t just an update from our studio - we’re trying to understand how to build an audience around Cimarron.
If you’ve made it this far, it probably means the story means something to you — or it could. And right now, the simplest way to show that is by clicking “Notify Me” on the Kickstarter page and dropping your name.
It only takes a moment. It doesn’t lock you in. But it sends a signal; to Kickstarter, to the press, and to potential collaborators that Cimarron has a community behind it.
Click “Notify Me”. That one click helps us launch stronger. It gives us momentum. It says: this is real, and it matters.
Let the platform know you're watching. And help us hit the ground running.
We’re almost there. Thanks for sticking with us as we build this the long way round.
More soon.
